“Kiki’s Delivery Service” Review
This is the movie that actually got the ball rolling on my desire to watch all the Studio Ghibli films, as one of my coworkers had a stain glass mural in her window that features Jiji all over the place, which I thought was cute and whimsical and figured I’d have something to talk to her about after I watched all these films, but now I feel too awkward to actually mentioned that I’ve seen Kiki’s Delivery Service. It’s a beautiful film and speaks to the trials and triumphs of declaring your independence and how the world reacts to your declarations. Usually it’s with indifference, on the rare occasion someone will openly support you and on the even more rare occasion, you’ll make a mortal enemy just by suggesting you should have a voice in how you live your own life. It’s a great movie and I highly suggest it.
