startrekdacfull580 Star Trek DAC releasing in May

A game based on the upcoming Star Trek reboot will apparently hit retail (virtual?) shelves this May. Discovered by TrekMovie.com, an insert going into the Star Trek Season One Blu-ray release announces Star Trek DAC. There is no further information on ParamountPictures.com/games (it just bounces back to the main site), nor on developer Naked Sky Entertainment’s website. Naked Sky’s first title was RoboBlitz a couple years back, but since then the developer has been fairly quiet.
Rumor: Star Trek DAC releasing in May

So what exactly does the “D A C” stand for?  digital action combat?

im2 Iron Man 2 Video Game Tie InSega’s North American and European divisions will continue their existing partnership with Marvel Entertainment to produce Iron Man 2.

The title will ship for multiple platforms, its 2010 release coinciding with the opening of Marvel Studio’s Iron Man 2 film. Sega also accompanied the original Iron Man movie, which debuted in May 2008, with video games for various home and handheld consoles.

I didn’t have the pleasure of playing the first Iron Man video game tie in.  Anyone have the pleasure?  Odds are good that the IM2 video game will be for every console that feature buttons, so if you happen to have one with those, you can look forward to this gem!

Batman Cereal arrived at the height of the first movie’s reign, siphoning a great deal of its popularity to create huge sales and massive kiddie interest. Batman had been galavanting for decades, but his shit never smelled sweeter than it did in 1989.
X-Entertainment: Batman Cereal From 1989!

Ok, I was only 8 years old when this movie came out, but I remember these.  I remember they were around at least, I doubt I ever got to actually partake in the delicacy.

On Tuesday, February 17, OCC will introduce Veidt Enterprise’s “Nite Owl Dark Roast,” a limited-edition confection and collectible designed for fans and organic coffee gourmands alike. A portion of the proceeds from the special roast will be donated to charity.

One side of the uniquely crafted steel can resembles artwork straight out of the “Watchmen” universe; the other side features Enos’ striking black & white portrait of Nite Owl, played in the film by Patrick Wilson. And with just ONE run of cans produced, this is sure to be a distinctive and rare collectible.

watchmen blackfreighter Watchmen Tales of the Black Freighter

It’s a movie from the comic that was cut due to time restraints.  How meta!

Tales of the Black Freighter, the story-within-the-story in the acclaimed Watchmen features the voices of Gerard Butler (300) and Jared Harris (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) and is directed by Daniel DelPurgatorio and Mike Smith and written by Alex Tse (Watchmen) and Zack Snyder.  Tales of the Black Freighter is produced by Brian McNulty and Karen Mayeda-Vranek.

Tales of the Black Freighter brings to strikingly animated life the graphic novel’s richly layered story-within-a-story.  Within the graphic novel, Tales of the Black Freighter, appears as a comic book read by a young man in New York City while the city is being destroyed.  This daring pirate saga chronicles a sailor’s journey home from being marooned.  During his journey, the young seaman is “forced by the urgency of his mission to shed one inhibition after another” and experience horrible events along the way.  The turbulent events the sailor endures seem to mirror those in the Watchmen’s world.
